Where have I been?

It's been busy around here.  Shortly after my last post, my kids were sick with colds/strep etc.. which lasted until at least May.  The plague just seemed to spread back and forth among the family members.
Summer arrived bringing with it my crazy summer work schedule. I try my best to work in the morning, so I have the afternoon to spend with the kiddies. Needless to say ...it's been crazy.

Some Summer highlights were...
Sleeping on the baseball field of Camden Riversharks in NJ.  Well technically, we didn't sleep there due to a crazy storm.  But we did put up the tent and I laid in it. I'm counting it as camping :-)

My daughter played Tball for the first time this year.  She just turned 7, and the team consisted of many 5  year old boys.  I think she would have enjoyed it more if I had signed her up for softball.

We also spent many days at the pool.

As for my knitting, I spent  msot of summer working on my Wingspan.

I also knitted the Honey Cowl...I love it.

Monsters....

I have been busy around here the past two weeks with my children's activities, so I haven't been working much on any projects.   We had the annual St. Patty's Dinner, an Easter Egg Hunt, and my son's Blue Gold Boyscout event.

As for knitting,  I was working on sock 2 when my Lantern Moon Sox Needle snapped.
My LYS did not have the correct size in stock, so the project was put on hold while awaited it's arrival.

In the mean time, I jumped on the Monster bandwagon.  I ordered the Rebecca Danger Monster book.  While I waited for it to arrive, I began knitting the bunny nuggets.

I've only made 2 so far, and I used my handspun to make them.  I love them as much as DD.

I quickly realized I needed to learn Magic loop, so I have been self teaching via Youtube video's.
Here's hoping I figure it out sooner than later.

In the meantime...here's a picture of Dewey.

Ten on Thursday

1. It's been a crazy week!  I've been working crazy hours, and I haven't been able to knit very much.

2.  This weekend is St. Patty's Day.  My Italian In-laws are coming over for the annual Irish dinner, which my Italian husband cooks.  He is a better cook them me.  I need to be a cleaning fool today and tomorrow.

3.  It's close to 70 degrees this week in the Philly burbs!  I am loving the Spring Weather.

4. I have two lazy cats who are spoiled rotten.  Dewey is orange and named after the Library cat.  Jingle is a fur ball of love.  She's black and white.

5. Today, I am taking my daughter to her Daisy meeting at a doughnut shop for a tour.   I am a big fan of a quality doughnut.

6.  Monday is St. Joseph's day.  It's a big holiday in our family.  My son makes homemade pasta with his Nana for Dinner.

7.  My daughter and I entered a car in my son's pine derby race.  It's full of my handspun!

8.  Daylight Saving Time has kicked by butt this week!

9.  My must see TV Shows are: Hart of Dixie, New Girl, Pan Am and Restaurant Impossible.

10.  On My Needles: Pair of Socks for Sunshine (Son) and a Pair of Socks for me!

Trifecta of Awesomeness

Look what came in the mail on Saturday!  My first shipment in the Trifecta Fiber club came!  Whoohoo!
The colorway is based on the book The Princess Bride.  I have never read book or seen the movie.
The fact that I have not seen the movie comes to a complete shock to my husband.  I am somewhat of an eighties movie queen! I love all things from the eighties... particularly...eighty movies.  I have made it a personal mission to make sure my children are watching eighty movies!  I must watch this movie when spinning this awesomeness!

WIP: Percy Jackson Sock

Recently, my DS (8 years old) wanted to watch the movie Percy Jackson & The Lightening Thief for family movie night.  We all really enjoyed the movie, and I was even more excited to hear the movie was adapted from a book series.  My DS had not read the book yet, and I decided this was the perfect opportunity to prove to him that the book is ALWAYS better than the movie.

One day when I was surfing Etsy, I stumbled upon Storied Yarns. The names of yarns correspond to characters in books.  I super excited to see Jess had a Percy Jackson colorway. I knew that DS would love socks in the Percy Jackson Colorway.

He is super excited, and he wants me to finish ASAP.  This past weekend, we went to BN to pick up the first book in the series.  I think I might challenge him to see if he can finish the book before I finish his pair of socks!

Resurrection!

Well, I am back!  The blog is back!  It's more of a way to keep track of my own projects, etc.
Lately, I have been watching MANY podcasters who state that they started podcasting to keep track of their knitting.  I just don't have the time to podcast, nor am I that interesting!  So here goes....The Sunsetknitter blog is here AGAIN!
What have I been up to?  Well, I've been knitting and spinning.  The mojo is back! I recently bought a used ladybug spinning wheel, and the whole spinning thing has clicked!  If you were a reader of my blog before, you might remember that I had a ladybug, but I sold it to buy a new camera.  I had serious wheel envy watching all the video podcasters.  So I am knitting and spinning fool!
Here is a picture of  cowl I made with my handspun!
